Founded in 2002 at Stanford University, Digital Media Academy (DMA) is an education company whose core business is developing and running technology camps and courses for kids, teens and adults at prestigious universities across the U.S. and Canada. Digital Media Academy is also rapidly expanding internationally, hosting students from all over the world at its camps each year, and offering STEAM programs abroad.

Instructor: Leads and instructs specific DMA courses. The instructor position is an excellent growth opportunity for college graduates, graduate students, and professionals alike.

Teach key concepts in a variety of formats: hands-on, direct instruction, group work and one-on-one with students
Utilize DMA provided curriculum and resources, ensuring an organized, fun, and rewarding experience for students
Teach with passion, structure and expertise while guiding students through the completion of a personal project
Depending on the size and scope of the class, collaborate with and oversee one or more Assistant Instructors/TA’s who will assist with group project work, one-on-one with students and/or a sub-group of students during the week
Take part in weekly staff meetings, to occur before and/or after camp on a designated day each week
Assist with set up before camp starts and classroom turnover at the end of each week as necessary
Assist with student check in and orientation on Monday mornings

BA or BS degree completed or nearly completed (Senior with 2-3 years coursework in subject matter)
Professional classroom experience with students ages 6-17 preferred
Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with both kids and parents
Patience, flexibility, energy, and a sense of humor
Positive Attitude

Classes run Monday – Friday from 9am – 4:30pm daily. This includes two out-of-class activity breaks as well as a lunch hour. The typical weekly work schedule for Instructors is below:

*Monday: 7:30am – 5:00-5:30 pm or until staff debrief is complete
Tuesday – Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00-5:30 or until all supervised students are checked out
Friday: 8:30am – 5:00-5:30pm or until turnover is complete

*Includes weekly student orientation and check-in before class on Monday mornings

Instructor compensation ranges from $1000 – 1100/wk and is commensurate with experience & qualifications.
